Electrical Safety Analyzer & NFPA 99 Testing

BMT 105 is a 10-lesson online course designed for biomedical and clinical engineering technicians responsible for electrical safety testing of medical equipment. The curriculum covers foundational NFPA 99 and IEC 62353/60601 requirements, including protective-earth resistance, insulation resistance, earth/enclosure/touch leakage currents, patient lead and applied-part leakage, and receptacle polarity and retention-force (tension) testing. Students learn to operate electrical safety analyzers in both automatic and manual testing modes, interpret pass/fail limits, and properly document results for compliance and audit readiness. Two hands-on simulated bench labs reinforce real-world testing procedures safely, and a final capstone assignment requires learners to perform a complete safety analysis and generate professional test documentation.
